The only other person here full-time at the moment is Elsie. She is a great coworker - supportive, constant, doesn't criticize. And is currently asleep on the chair in front of me. Her IT and typing skills support could be better.

Sarah, my wife, still works full time on other things currently (probably why this website looks like it does, is written like it is and is powered by GoDaddy). However, the eivsom philosophy and agenda is very much the result of our collaboration, along with all of those of you we have worked with over the years who have contributed to its positive energy and growth.
And as a family, with Emma, our 12-year-old daughter who has grown up hearing eivsom be used as a noun, an adjective and a verb, it has been part of our way of living for some time.
So, whilst not working with clients yet, Sarah (and Emma come to that), is (are) very much part of the story and the community.
If you are reading this, then I am firstly pretty amazed that I got a website onto the internet. And then I am really pleased that anyone has gotten this far in looking at it and reading it. So, a huge thank you, you have made my day.

My name is Dr. Robert Graves, and I am proudly the founder of eivsom.com. If you have read about us, then fantastic, and if you haven’t, please go to that bit next if you have time.
As for me, in a few paragraphs I will give you an overview, and then I will add a bio and write something longer somewhere as well at some point for those who wish to know more.
I was born in the UK, in London, and lived there until I left home after school to travel Australia. Upon returning I went to the University of Kent and studied Philosophy for my undergraduate degree. I then worked in business in London until I went to New Zealand and Australia again where I worked and played rugby for a time. After that and travelling Asia, I returned to the UK where I qualified as a teacher and completed an MA in Religious Studies through University College London (UCL). I worked in London state schools in various roles and became a deputy head of school at a pupil referral unit where I was awarded a research grant to conduct a PhD study through UCL.
After my research was completed I went to work overseas and opened and ran international schools in Egypt, Qatar, and China before moving to Costa Rica and then Mexico to run a region of schools. I gained my doctorate in Psychology of Education focusing on emotional intelligence and value systems in 2019. Upon moving to the US in 2022, I wanted to use the research from my PhD in a positive way, and from that, eivsom.com has evolved.
I have been incredibly lucky in my journey, and I believe that my life experiences have given me a perspective that means that I am able to empathize with people in a genuine fashion. I am able to meet people where they are at with me where I am at and help people to find their best way forward in this post postmodern world of ours. I can work with individuals, families, groups and organizations. I can be a coach and walk next to you and support you in finding your path, or I can consult for you to offer suggestions for what those directions you take might be. We will agree together the arrangement we will adhere to, before we begin.
I work best having met people in person first if geography allows. However, if it doesn’t, we can use online as a way to get things started. I can work for short or long term goals, and all of that can be discussed and agreed when we meet.
As I said, I want to meet people where they are at, personally, culturally, and financially, so if you can’t afford the fees (another page to click on) then email me anyway, and we can speak about where else you could look (both within eivsom.com or other options). And for those of you who can meet the price point, know that your fee is going towards making our philosophy and service as accessible to the widest cross-section of our society as possible.
My email address is robert.graves@eivsom.com. If you email me, I promise that you will be contacted in a relaxed, genuine, and positive manner. And if you don’t, then thank you again for taking the time to read this and I wish you the very best.
With regards,
Rob
The concept of eivsom.com is based on the premise that we all want to be helpful. There is a lot of contemporary and historical reference research to suggest that all help givers are doing so from a need to do so. Our plan is to put help givers with help seekers. The concept of eivsom.com is based on the premise that we all want to be helpful. There is a lot of contemporary and historical reference research to suggest that all help givers are doing so from a need to do so. Our plan is to put help givers with help seekers. Then, over time, when those who came for help are ready, they might become the help givers at some point (more on that in our philosophy section). So, everyone else could be you as well when the time is right. In the meantime, we have a number of certified and qualified helping practitioners who I am confident will provide help to the right clients. My job will be to match those help givers and help seekers together.
I want this website to be organic (my way of saying that there are probably lots of errors and things that I have written and not completely thought through). I hope that we can use this as a place where the philosophy and culture of eivsom.com can grow. I have never blogged before, so next, that is going to be my first attempt at starting a dialogue. Then podcasts, once I have looked up what podcasts are.
